• If the power cable is damaged immediately dis-
connect the plug. Never use the device if the
power cable is damaged.
• If the device is not in use make sure the plug is
pulled out.
• Make sure that the device is switched off before
plugging in the mains cable.
• Make sure that the device is switched off before
unplugging it.
• Disconnect the power supply before transport-
ing the device.
Device-specific safety instructions
• When operating the device ensure that the area
you are working in is clean and orderly.
• When working with the device make sure the
area is well lighted.
• Make sure that flammable or explosive materials
are kept out of the immediate vicinity.
• Ensure that unauthorised persons are kept away
before putting the device into operation.
• Do not overload the device. Only use the device
for its intended purpose.
• Make sure you are positioned firmly and with a
natural stance when working with the device.
• Make sure to remove all tools from the area
(wrenches etc.) before switching on the device.
• Prevent overheating of the device and work-
piece.
• Position the power cable so that it cannot be
caught by the tool.
• Always fix/clamp in the chainsaw so that it can-
not move.
• Never grind away too much in one workstep, it is
better to use several worksteps with less grind-
ing.
• The device may only be used by one operator at
any one time.
• Ensure that, during operation, no parts of the
body, clothing or jewellery can be caught and
drawn in by the rotating components.
• Wear a hair net if you have long hair.
• Always maintain sufficient distance to the grind-
ing wheel. Wait until the grinding wheel has
come to a standstill before you remove work-
pieces, dirt etc. from the working range of the
device.
• Never leave the device running unattended.
• The device may only be operated when firmly
mounted to a workbench.
• Only use grinding wheels in perfect working
order.
• The device may only be operated in a grease-
free environment.
• The device may only be operated in a frost-free
environment.
• The rotation direction of the grinding wheel must
always correspond to the arrow marking on the
protective hood.
• After switching off the grinding wheel never slow
down with hands or objects.
• Remember that moving parts may also be
located behind ventilation and venting slots.
• Symbols affixed to your tools may not be
removed or covered. Information on the device
that is no longer legible must be replaced imme-
diately.
Residual risks
Even with proper use of the device and observance
of all safety regulations contained in these instruc-
tions, the following residual risks may occur:
• Coming into contact with the running grinding
wheel in the unprotected area.
• Kickback of workpieces and workpiece parts.
• Flying sparks are created when metal is ground.
Risk of fire! Keep persons and flammable mate-
rials away from flying sparks.
• Caution when using chainsaws. Danger of cuts!
