If necessary
Inspect grinding wheel
Visual check
– Check the grinding wheel on both sides for 
cracks or damage.
Ringing test
►P.5, item13
– For testing the grinding wheel with a ringing test 
let it hang freely on a strap and lightly tap it with 
a screwdriver handle or similar object (not 
metal). With a dull or hollow ring the grinding 
wheel is damaged and must not be used!
Removing and installing grinding wheel
►P.5, item10
– Disassemble movable workpiece stopper.
– Unscrew screws(9).
– Remove eye protection(3) and protective 
hood(2).
►P.5, item11
– Insert a suitable tool (Allen key or similar object) 
as shown into the drilled hole(23) and hold.
– Turn the tensioning nut(21) using a KW13 
wrench in an anti-clockwise direction.
– Remove the tensioning flange(20) from the 
motor shaft.
– Remove the grinding wheel(22) from the engine 
shaft. The rear flange stays on the engine shaft.
– Mount the grinding wheel again in reverse order 
of the operating steps. Make sure the wheel 
flange is in the right position (►P.5, item12).
Troubleshooting
Malfunctions are often caused by minor faults. You 
can easily remedy most of these yourself. Please 
consult the following table before contacting the 
vendor. You will save yourself a lot of trouble and 
possibly money too.
If you can’t fix the fault yourself, contact your nearest 
vendor. Please be aware that any improper repairs 
will also invalidate the warranty and additional costs 
may be incurred.
Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
Appliances which are labelled with the adja-
cent symbol must not be disposed of in 
household waste. You must dispose of such 
old electrical and electronic equipment sep-
arately.
– Please check with your local authority about the 
possibilities for correct disposal.
Through separate disposal you send old equipment 
for recycling or for other forms of re-use. You will 
thus help to avoid in somecases that damaging 
material gets into the environment.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging consists of cardboard and 
correspondingly marked plastics that can 
be recycled.
– Make these materials available for 
recycling.

Cleaning the device Wipe the tool with a 
damp cloth. Remove 
grinding residues with a 
dry brush.
DANGER! Risk of injury! Before mount-
ing you must inspect grinding wheels with 
visual inspection and ringing testing for 
possible cracks or damage.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to workpiece! 
With increasing abrasion the grinding wheel 
diameter becomes smaller and the wheel 
must be replaced.
Minimal diameter: ►Technical data– p.25
DANGER! Risk of injury! Observe rota-
tion direction when installing grinding 
wheel. The rotation direction of motor and 
grinding wheel must correspond.
DANGER! Risk of injury! It must be possi-
ble to lightly slide the grinding wheel onto 
the engine shaft. Do not force the grinding 
wheel on or drill on.
After every grinding wheel mounting carry 
out a test run without load.
DANGER! Risk of injury! Unprofessional 
repairs may mean that your unit will no 
longer operate safely. This endangers you 
and your environment.

Insufficient sharpening capacity Grinding wheel worn out? Replace grinding wheel (►Remov-
