SET MODE
D Weather Alert
A NOAA broadcast station transmits a weather alert tone
before important weather information. When “10” is se-
lected, the previously selected (used) weather channel is
checked any time during standby, or while scanning. When
“10 YKVJ 9: 5%#0” is selected, the weather channels
are sequentially checked during standby, or while scanning.
The “9:#.'46” indicator blinks until the transceiver is op-
erated after the transceiver detects the alert.
• “9:#.'46” appears instead of “9:” when the function is turned ON.
(Default: OFF)

D Beep tone
You can select silent operation by turning beep tones OFF,
or you can have confi rmation beeps sound at the push of a
key by turning beep tones ON.

D Internal speaker
When an external speaker is connected, and the transceiver’s
internal speaker is not required, the internal speaker and the
speaker in the microphone can be deactivated.
D LCD contrast
This item adjusts the contrast of the LCD in 8 steps.
D Attenuation level
This item sets the receive attenuation level for the Attenuator
function from 3 levels.
D Automatic foghorn frequency
The audio frequency of the automatic foghorn can be ad-
justed to suit your preference. While this item is selected,
holding down [PTT] sounds the foghorn— experiment with
the selectable frequencies until you fi nd one you like.

The selectable frequency range is 200 Hz to 850Hz, in 50 Hz steps.
