8. MIDI CONTROL CENTER
KeyLab mkII has been designed to provide quick access to the controls you use most
frequently. And though editing from the front panel is quick and easy, the MIDI Control
Center (MCC) makes this process even faster. When the KeyLab mkII is connected to
your computer, you may prefer to use the MCC to design your presets to match whatever
software or instruments you might use.
8.1. Connecting to MIDI Control Center
Once you have downloaded the MCC and installed it, simply open the program while your
KeyLab mkII is connected to your computer.
MCC will automatically connect to your device and display its image in the main window.
♪: If you have multiple Arturia devices connected to your system, you can specify which one you
will be editing by selecting it from the drop-down menu in the Device section of the MCC.
Now that your KeyLab mkII is connected and selected, let’s go over a few of the simple
ways to personalize your controller.
8.1.1. Device Memories
The Device Memories section of the MCC displays the 10 Memories that correspond to the 10
User presets within KeyLab mkII, as well as two Read-Only Memories dedicated to Analog
Lab and DAW modes.
• Analog Lab - This Memory is dedicated to using KeyLab mkII within Analog Lab
4. It is read-only, which means it cannot be altered.
• DAW - This Memory is dedicated to using KeyLab mkII to control your recording
software. It is read-only, which means it cannot be altered.
• User 1-10 - These Memories correspond to User presets 1 - 10 inside the KeyLab
mkII, and can be customized to match your setup.
• Store to - This function lets you save your current template to the highlighted
User slot in the KeyLab mkII.
• Recall from - This function lets you recall the highlighted User preset from the
KeyLab mkII, when enables you to edit and refine the settings. The revised
Memory can be saved on your computer and stored directly into one of the
KeyLab mkII User presets.
