8.10. Customize the Keyboard
KeyLab mkII's keyboard can also be modified using the MIDI Control Center.
: Settings related to Part 2 and the Split Point are only shown when Split mode is set to On. Also,
any parameters that are set to
Part 2
or
Both
will be ignored from the KeyLab mkII unless Split mode =
On.
Part 1 Channel: Select the output MIDI channel for Part 1, between 1 and 16. This
can also be set to “User”, which will make Part 1 output to the MIDI channel
selected for the MIDI Ch button [p.64].
Part 1 Semi: This parameter is used to set the chromatic transposition amount
for Part 1. This can be set in semitones, from -11 to +11.
Part 1 Octave: This parameter is used to set the octave shift amount for Part 1.
The range is -3 to +3 octaves.
Velocity Curve: Three settings are available: Linear (Lin), Logarithmic (Log), or
Exponential (Exp). This setting applies to both Part 1 and Part 2.
Split Mode: When set to Off, Part 1 is the only active Part and the rest of the
parameters in this list are hidden. When set to On, Part 2 becomes active and
the rest of the parameters in this list are revealed. Part 1 is on the right side of the
split; Part 2 is on the left side of the split.
Split Point: Allows you to set the split point between Part 1 and Part 2.
Part 2 Channel: Select the output MIDI channel for Part 2, between 1 and 16. This
can also be set to “User”, which will make Part 2 output to the MIDI channel
selected for the MIDI Ch button [p.64].
Part 2 Semi: This parameter is used to set the chromatic transposition amount
for Part 2. This can be set in semitones, from -11 to +11.
Part 2 Octave: This parameter is used to set the octave shift amount for Part 2.
The range is -3 to +3 octaves.
Oct buttons assign: Specify whether the Octave buttons will shift Part 1 or Part 2.
Trans button assign: Specify whether Part 1 or Part 2 can be transposed.
Chord button assign: Choose whether Part 1 or Part 2 will play the chord stored
on the Chord button. This also affects which half of the keyboard will work with
the pads when they are in Chord Transpose mode.
Aftertouch assign: Select whether aftertouch is active for Part 1 or Part 2.
: The keyboard aftertouch curve can be specified on the Device Settings tab. It is a Global
parameter, which means it is not stored as part of the Template.
