13.3.4 Symptom: The pump is blocked
Possible causes Corrective action
If the unit has been powered off for a
long time, lime might block the rotor of
the pump.
Use a PhilipsNo.2 screwdriver to push
the deblocking screw of the rotor in
(0.5cm). Then turn the deblocking
screw back and forth until the rotor is
deblocked.

Note: Do NOT use excessive force.

If you cannot deblock the rotor of the pump with this method, you will need to
disassemble the pump and turn the rotor by hand.
13.3.5 Symptom: The pump is making noise (cavitation)
Possible causes Corrective action
There is air in the system Purge air manually (see "To perform a
manual air purge"[4157]) or use the
automatic air purge function (see "To
perform an automatic air
purge"[4157]).
The water pressure at the pump inlet is
too low
Check and make sure that:
▪ The water pressure is >1bar.
▪ The water pressure sensor is not
broken.
▪ The expansion vessel is NOT broken.
▪ The valve (if equipped) of the water
circuit towards the expansion vessel is
open.
▪ The pre-pressure setting of the
expansion vessel is correct (see
"7.2.4 Changing the pre-pressure of
the expansion vessel"[470]).
13.3.6 Symptom: The pressure relief valve opens
Possible causes Corrective action
The expansion vessel is broken Replace the expansion vessel.

- In heavy snowfall areas it is very important to select an installation site where the snow will not affect the unit if lateral snowfall is possible make sure that the heat exchanger coil is not affected by the snow if necessary install a snow cover or shed and a pedestal 51
- It is recommended to provide at least 150 mm of free space below the unit 300 mm for heavy snowfall areas additionally make sure the unit is positioned at least 100 mm above the maximum expected level of snow if necessary construct a pedestal see 6 mounting the outdoor unit 4 57 for more details 51
