7 CONNECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE Mounting the transceiver DASHBOARD MOUNTING with optional MB 66 The universal mounting bracket supplied with your transceiver allows overhead or dashboard mounting Please read the fol lowing instructions carefully Mount the transceiver securely with the 4 supplied screws to a surface which is more than 10 mm thick and can sup port more than 5 kg Mount the transceiver so that the face of the transceiver is at 90 to your line of sight when operating it CAUTION KEEP the transceiver and microphone at An optional MB 66 is available for mounting the transceiver as above least 1 meter away from your vessel s magnetic navigation compass NOTE OVERHEAD MOUNTING Check the installation angle the function display may not be easy to read at some angles NOTES FOR SUPPLIED STICKER When installing an optional UX 130 DSC UNIT Attach the WARNING sticker supplied with the UX 130 near the transceiver s front panel so that it is clearly visible during operation 36
