STANDARDS OF USE
For instructions regarding the engine and the battery (if
supplied), read the relevant manuals.
NOTE - The number which precedes each paragraph links the
references in the text to the respective figures (listed on the pa-
ges 2 - 3 - 4 - 5).
NOTE - The machine can be supplied with some of the
components already fitted.
WARNING - Unpacking and completing the assembly
should be done on a flat and stable surface, with enough
space for machine handling and its packaging, always
making use of suitable equipment.
Disposal of the packaging should be done in accordance
with the local regulations in force.
“I” type handle
Move the handle’s lower part (1), already preassembled, to the
working position, making sure the two nuts (3) are correctly
inserted in the openings on the two side chassis supports (4).
Attach the upper part (2) and tighten the handle’s two parts
with the upper clamps (5) (previously removed from their holes).
The washers (9) on the handles (5) must be mounted so they
keep the top part (2) firmly fixed to the lower section of the
handle (1), without too much effort required to tighten or
release them.
Move the handle’s grip to the desired height and block the
lower clamps (6).
Fit the cable clamps (7) as shown and secure the control
cables.
Mount the starter cable guide spring (8).
“II” type handle
Move the lower part (1) of the handle to the working position
and secure it by tightening the knobs (2) and the screws sup-
plied (3), making sure the screwheads are correctly inserted in
the openings on the side chassis supports (4).
Attach the upper part (5) using the knobs (6) and screws sup-
plied (7), as shown.
Fit the cable clamps (8) as shown and secure the control
cables.
Mount the starter cable guide spring (9).
Loosening the lower knobs (2), the handle’s grip can be moved
to the desired height.
On models with an electric starter, connect the battery
cable to the lawnmower’s general cable connection.
Throttle trigger
The throttle s controlled by the lever (1) and positioned as
shown on the relative plate.
Blade engagement and consent levers
The blade must only be engaged when the engine is running.
To engage the blade:
pull the consent lever (1) towards the handle;
firmly push the engagement lever (2) as far forward as pos-
sible and allow it to return to its idle position. This move-
ment must be quick and decisive to prevent the clutch
from slipping and damaging.
When you release the consent lever (1) the blade stops, and the
engine keeps running.
To engage the blade again, please repeat the above illustrated
procedure.
Drive engagement lever
In power-driven models, draw the lever (1) towards the handle
for forward movement.

1. FINISH ASSEMBLY
EN
The lawnmower stops moving forward when the lever is
released.
Cutting height adjustment
The cutting height is adjusted using the levers (1).
The four wheels must be at the same height.
MAKE THIS ADJUSTMENT ONLY WHEN THE BLADE IS
STOPPED.
NOTE - This machine cuts lawns in various modes; before
starting work, prepare the machine based on how the lawn is
to be mowed.
MAKE THIS ADJUSTMENT WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF.
Preparation for grass cutting and collection in
grass-catcher:
– Lift the rear stone-guard (1) and correctly hook the rigid
grass-catcher (2) or the cloth grass-catcher (3) as shown in
the figures.
Preparation for grass cutting and rear discharge:
In models with side discharge potential: make sure the side
door (4) is lowered.
Preparation for grass cutting and mulching (if pres-
ent):
In models with side discharge potential: make sure the side
door (4) is lowered.
Lift the rear stone-guard (1) and fit the deflector cap (5) in the
outlet, keeping it slightly tilted to the right. Fasten it by fitting
the two pins (6) into the holes provided until the fastener
tooth clicks into place (7).
To remove the deflector cap (5), lift the stone-guard (1) and
press down on the centre until the tooth (7) is released.
Preparation for grass cutting and side discharge
(if applicable):
Lift the rear stone-guard (1) and fit the deflector cap (5) in the
outlet, keeping it slightly tilted to the right. Fasten it by fitting
the two pins (6) into the holes provided until the fastener
tooth clicks into place (7).
Insert the discharge deflector (8) as shown in the figure.
Close the side door (4) so that the deflector (8) is locked in
place.
To remove the deflector cap (5), lift the stone-guard (1) and
press down on the centre until the tooth (7) is released.
Do not start up the engine when the blade is engaged.
To start the engine, move the throttle (1) to the position indi-
cated on the Manual, then give a sharp pull on the starter cable
knob (2).
If the model has electric ignition, turn the starter key (3).
When working, engage and disengage the blade as
indicated in point 2.2.
IMPORTANT – Do not engage the blade in the presence of very
high grass.
In case of “mulching”: always avoid removing a large quan-
tity of grass. Never cut more than one third the total grass
height in a single passage! Regulate the forward speed ac-
cording to the lawn conditions and the amount of grass re-
moved.
For side discharge (if applicable): it is best to mow in a
direction where cut grass is not discharged on the grass still
to be cut.
LAWN CARE RECOMENDATIONS
Each type of grass has different features and may thus require
different ways to care for the lawn; always read the instructions
on seed boxes for mowing height for the growth conditions in
the work area.
