good glass thermometer. (max. inaccuracy +/- 1°C ) placed in a
glass with e.g. glycerine and then fine-tuned, if required.
The location of the cabinet, the ambient temperature and the num-
ber and length of door openings greatly influence the temperature
inside the cabinet. The cabinet must therefore not be placed in di-
rect sunlight or up against heat-generating surfaces. See Fig.
If your cabinet is fitted with locks, the keys to the cabinet should be
kept out of the reach of children. If your new cabinet is replacing a
worn-out cabinet of an older type, you should dismantle the locking
mechanism on the old cabinet before it is removed.
If your cabinet is not equipped with a lock, you can purchase one
as an accessory, no. 485021 for G48, no. 760165 for G8, no.
485022 for G18, and fit it later.
4 Storing food
Always make sure that you place the products so that air can cir-
culate freely and without restriction as otherwise differences bet-
ween the temperatures at the top and at the bottom of the cabinet
may occur.
The freezers are only intended as a conservator and are therefore
not suited for the freezing of food In other words, only products
that are already packaged and frozen should be placed in the
freezer.
The bottle coolers in the cabinets are intended for the cooling and
storage of soft drinks.
As the temperature inside the cabinet very much depends on the
conditions in the location where the cabinet is placed, it is unfortu-
nately not possible to give an exact setting for the thermostat. It is
recommended instead that you adjust the thermostat to suit the
area in which the freezer is located.
5 De-icing the cabinet
The cabinets de-ice automatically.
Over time, ice formation in the freezer is a natural process, but
when the ice reaches a thickness of approx. 5-8 mm, the cabinet
should be de-iced the in the following way: .
• Place the products from the cabinet in a cold place or pack
them in insulating material.
• The cabinet should be switched off at the socket.
• The door should be kept open.
• Loosen the ice layer using plastic or wooden implements
(never use metal implements).
• The de-icing process can also be speeded up by using bowls
of hot water.
• Never use pointed or sharp tools.
• After de-icing, clean the cabinet as described under Section
6. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
6 Maintenance
Please note the following in connection with the cleaning of the
cabinet:
• Place the products from the cabinet in a cold place or pack
them in insulating material.
• The cabinet should be switched off at the socket.
• The door should be kept open.
• The cabinet can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild
detergent. It should then be washed with clean water.
• Never use detergents that contain chlorine.
• Never use pointed or sharp tools.
• Clean the doors in the same way as the cabinet.
If the cabinet has a condenser with a fan at the bottom of the cabi-
net, dust and dirt may gather on the cooling element. If cleaning is
required, the power should be switched off, the front/back grille
removed and the cooling element vacuum-cleaned with a soft
brush. Cleaning is recommended twice a year.
Remove the front/back grille as follows. Lift up the front/back grille
by taking hold on both outer sides, lift up and then pull the
front/back grille away from the cabinet.
The compressor and condenser (cooling element) are now readily
accessible.
Be aware that the cooling element consists of sharp components
and may be hot to touch.
If your cabinet has a canopy, the strip light must be replaced in the
following way:
Remove the two screws in one end cover, remove the cover and
remove the canopy plate. The strip light is now readily accessible.
When the strip light has been replaced, the canopy is assembled
in reverse order.
7 Troubleshooting
If you experience any problems with your cabinet, please check
the following before seeking assistance:
• Is the plug inserted?
• Is the socket switched on?
• Is the fuse in the meter cabinet intact?
• Has any fault current relay been disconnected?
• Has there been a complete power failure?
• Is the thermostat set correctly?
If the cabinet is in a very hot place or air circulation is poor, you
should provide the necessary circulation.
If the condenser is not clean, it should be vacuum-cleaned. If you
have checked the above and the cabinet is still not working, call a
service technician.
