Electrical connection
Prior to connecting the appliance to a source of electricity, check
carefully that the electric voltage in your home matches the voltage
rating of the appliance and that the mains wall socket and the mains
supply are adequate for operating it.
Start up
A smell may develop for a short time after switching on the
appliance for the first time and after an extended period of
non-use.
To use, insert the plug in the socket.

Functions of the rotary selector switch
The functions are selected by turning the rotary switch to the required
position.
0 OFF
Only fan on (cold)
1 Stage 1: 1000 watt heater output
2 Stage 2: 2000 watt heater output
The fan mode or the heater output is set using the rotary selector
switch.
Thermostat rotary switch
(applies only to HS 203 T and HS 204 ST)
The room temperature can be set to between 0 °C and 45 °C with this
rotary switch. Set the thermostat to “max.” in order to maintain a
certain room temperature. Operate the appliance at full power until
the required room temperature is reached. Reset the thermostat until
the appliance switches off with an audible “click”. The set temperature
will be kept almost constant by the appliance switching on and off
automatically.
Please note that the appliance does not switch on unless the
thermostat setting is higher than the room temperature.
Frost protection
Set the thermostat to and the rotary selector switch to the
required heater output.
The appliance switches on automatically when the temperature falls
below +5 °C…+8 °C.

Tilt protection
The AEG fan heater is designed to automatically shut off when tipped
forward or backward. When returned to normal upright position heat
will automatically come on again. This is a safety feature to avoid
possibility of fire should the unit be accidentally upset.
Overheat cut-out
The built-in overheat cut-out switches the appliance off automatically
when a fault develops! Switch off the appliance (set the rotary switch
to “0” and the thermostat to ) or unplug the mains plug from the
socket. After a short cooling down phase (20 minutes) the appliance is
ready for re-use. Consult your authorised dealer or your after-sales
service department if the fault re-occurs!
Cleaning
Before starting, switch off the appliance and unplug the mains plug
from the socket!
Clean the housing with a damp cloth, a vacuum cleaner or a dusting
brush.
Do not use any scouring or caustic cleansing agents!
Never use highly inflammable cleansing agents such as, for example,
benzine or spirit to clean the appliance.
Never immerse the appliance in water! Danger to life!
Clean the intake and blower section regularly with a vacuum
cleaner.
If the appliance is not used for an extended period it must be
protected against excessive dust and dirt.
Environment and recycling
Please help us to protect the environment by disposing of the
packaging in accordance with the national regulations for waste
processing.
Recycling of obsolete appliances
Make the appliance unusable by cutting through the power cord
before disposing of it.
Appliances with this label must not be disposed off with the
general waste. They must be collected separately and disposed
off according to local regulations.
After sales service
All repairs must be referred to authorised specialists.
Therefore consult an authorised dealer or an after-sales service
department.
Any tampering with the appliance will invalidate the warranty.
Improper repairs can cause grave hazards for the user!
