Battery-filling with acid (only immediately before delivery)
• Only fill the battery with acid shortly before it is needed.
•
Unscrewthe
stoppers.
• Fill the
batterywith
pure accumul
atorsu
lphuric acid (to VDE
051
0, density: 1.28 kg/l, at 20°C acid temperature)
upto
the specified level (MAX mark).
• Allow the
batteryto
stand for app. 1 hour (the chemical reaction generates heat. Max. temperature 40°C, otherwise
there is a risk
of
short-circuiting between the plates), then shake gently or tilt (to expel air) and top up acid to the .
correct level if necessary.
• Screw in stoppers loosely (only tighten once the battery has been charged).
• When the dry, pre-charged battery is first filled with acid, it will produce only app.
60%
of
its rated output. Charging is
therefore essential.
