Battery-filling with acid (only immediately before delivery)
Only fill the battery with acid shortly before it is needed.
Unscrewthe
stoppers.
Fill the
batterywith
pure accumul
atorsu
lphuric acid (to VDE
051
0, density: 1.28 kg/l, at 20°C acid temperature)
upto
the specified level (MAX mark).
Allow the
batteryto
stand for app. 1 hour (the chemical reaction generates heat. Max. temperature 40°C, otherwise
there is a risk
of
short-circuiting between the plates), then shake gently or tilt (to expel air) and top up acid to the .
correct level if necessary.
Screw in stoppers loosely (only tighten once the battery has been charged).
When the dry, pre-charged battery is first filled with acid, it will produce only app.
60%
of
its rated output. Charging is
therefore essential.

Charging time
= 5

. 10 hours
Battery charge can be determined by measuring the
ac
id density.
Acid density when battery fully charged
= 1.26 .
..
1.30 kg/l at 20°C.
Shake the battery gently after charging so that any
gas
bubbles rise to the surface.
When the fluid has settled again, top up battery acid to
MAX. mark if necessary. Screw the stopper in firmly.
Connect up breather line.
Brake fluid level:
The brake fluid reservoirs
atthe
front ...
... rear must
befil

MAX
marks only 1

Brake fluid level must never be a

below the
MIN mark, as air
may
otherwise penetrate into the brake
system. Only use quality grade
DOT
4 brake fluid if
topping up is necessary.
