After switching on, the default mode always is short-
distance operation.
To switch to long-distance operation, press button
18; indicator 19 lights up. For short-distance opera-
tion, press button 18 again; indicator 19 goes out.
Direction Indicators
The bottom e, centre a and top d indicators (both on
the front and rear side of the measuring tool) indicate
the position of the rotating laser beam in the reception
area 16. Additionally, the position can be indicated
with an audio signal (see “Audio Signal for Indication
of the Laser Beam”, page 21).
Measuring tool too low: When the laser beam runs
through the top half of the reception area 16, the bot-
tom direction indicator e appears on the display.
When the audio signal is switched on, a slow-beat
signal sounds.
Move the measuring tool upward in the direction of
the arrow.
Measuring tool too high: When the laser beam
runs through the bottom half of the reception area 16,
the top direction indicator d appears on the display.
When the audio signal is switched on, a fast-beat sig-
nal sounds.
Move the measuring tool downward in the direction of
the arrow.
Measuring tool in centre position: When the laser
beam runs through the reception area 16 at the centre
mark 20, the centre indicator a lights up. When the au-
dio signal is switched on, a continuous signal sounds.
Audio Signal for Indication of the Laser Beam
The position of the laser beam on the reception area
16 can be indicated via an audio signal.
After the measuring tool has been switched on, the
audio signal is always switched on.
It is possible to select between two volume levels or
shut off the audio signal. For this, press the audio sig-
nal button 15 as often as required until the desired
setting is reached. For confirmation, a short audio sig-
nal sounds each time after pressing the audio signal
button 15.
Independent of the audio signal setting, a short beep
sounds each time a button is pressed on the measur-
ing tool.
Working Advice
Marking
When the laser beam runs through the centre of the
reception area 16, its height can be marked at the
centre mark 20 right and left on the measuring tool.
The centre mark is located 50.8 mm away from the
top edge of the measuring tool.
When marking, pay attention that the measuring tool
is aligned exactly vertical; otherwise, the marks will be
off-set to the laser beam.
Attaching with the Holder (see figure G)
With the holder 30, the measuring tool can be fas-
tened to a “Cut & fill” rod 10 (accessory) as well as to
other auxiliary tools with a width of up to 65 mm.
Screw the holder 30 to the retainer opening 26 on the
rear side of the measuring tool with fastening screw 28.
Loosen locking screw 27, slide the holder, e.g., onto
the “Cut & fill” rod 10 and tighten locking screw 27
again.
The holder 30 can be horizontally aligned with help of
the spirit level 29.
A measuring tool mounted out-of-level leads to faulty
measurements.
