CYLINDER HEAD VALVE Measure each valve guide I D and record it SERVICE LIMIT 6 040 mm 0 2378 in Subtract each valve stem O D from the correspond ing guide I D to obtain the stem to guide clearance SERVICE LIMITS IN 0 075 mm 0 0030 in EX 0 085 mm 0 0033 in IF the stem to guide clearance exceeds the service limit determine if a new guide with standard dimen sions would bring the clearance within tolerance If so replace any guides as necessary and ream to fit If the stem to guide clearance exceeds the service limit with a new guide also replace the valve NOTE Inspect and reface the valve seats whenever the valve guides are replaced page 8 12 CAM CHAIN TENSIONER GUIDE CAM CHAIN TENSIONER Check the cam chain tensioner and guide for exces sive wear or damage and replace them it necessary To remove the cam chain tensioner and guide Front cylinder Remove the flywheel page 10 4 Rear cylinder Remove the primary drive gear page 9 22 Remove the bolts cam chain tensioner and guide Apply locking agent to the bolt threads Install the cam chain tensioner and guide and tight en the bolts TORQUE 23 N m 2 3 kgf m 17 Ibf ft Install the primary drive gear page 9 23 Install the flywheel page 10 7
