BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM BATTERY REMOVAL INSTALLATION Remove the seat page 2 2 Open the battery case cover With the ignition switch turned to OFF disconnect the negative cable first then the positive I cable Remove the battery from the battery case Install the battery in the reverse order of removal NOTE ____________ Connect the positive cable first then the neg ative cable After connecting the battery cables coat the ter minals with dielectric grease VOLTAGE INSPECTION Open the battery case cover Measure the battery voltage using a commercially available digital multimeter VOLTAGE 20 C 68 F Fully charged 13 0 13 2 V Undercharged Below 12 3V BATTERY TESTING NOTE _______________________ Always clear the work area of flammable materials such as gasoline brake fluid electrolyte or cloth towels when operating the tester since the heat generated by the tester may cause a fire Remove the battery Securely connect the tester s positive cable first then connect Ilie negative cable TOOL Battery tester BM 210 AH or BM 210 U S A only
