DETAILED SAFETY REGULATIONS
DETAILED REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRIC GRASS TRIMMERS
(STRIMMERS)
WARNING: Observe safety regulations when using the grass
trimmer. Before you begin to work with the grass trimmer, read this
instruction manual for your own and other people’s safety. Please
keep this instruction manual for future reference.
INSTRUCTIONS
• Become familiar with the control system and correct operation of the
equipment.
• Before the grass trimmer is used, check the unwound power cord for
damages or wear.
• Do not use the grass trimmer, if the power cord is damaged or worn.
• Before the grass trimmer is connected to the electric power supply,
make sure the supply voltage corresponds to the voltage values given
on the rating plate of the tool.
• The grass trimmer can be connected only to an electrical system
equipped with a residual current circuit breaker that will cut the power
o, when an earth leakage current exceeds 30 mA in less than 30 ms.
• Connect the grass trimmer only using an appropriate power cord,
designed for outdoor use.
• If the power cord is damaged during operation, disconnect the power
supply immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE POWER CORD, BEFORE
THE POWER SUPPLY IS DISCONNECTED.
• WARNING. The cutting string still rotates for some time, after the
motor is switched o.
• Keep the unwound power cord away from cutting parts.
• Do not allow children and people not familiarized with the instruction
manual to operate the grass trimmer.
• Do not trim, when other people, especially children or animals are
close to you.
• This grass trimmer is not intended to be used by people with
limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or by people without
experience or knowledge of the equipment, unless the grass trimmer
is operated under the supervision or according to instructions given
by people responsible for their safety.
• Pay special attention so that children do play with the grass trimmer.
• REMEMBER. The operator or user is responsible for any accidents or
hazards to other people or surrounding area.
PREPARATION
• When trimming, always wear sturdy shoes and long trousers.
• Always use personal protection equipment, such as protective glasses
and ear protectors.
• Carefully check the terrain, where you are going to work, remove all
objects that might be thrown by a rotating cutting string.
• Before each use, make sure the grass trimmer head is not damaged.
• Hold the grass trimmer with both hands and keep the head axis
perpendicular to the ground.
• Put the extension power cord of the grass trimmer in the tool handle
to prevent its accidental disconnection.
USE
• Trim only in daylight or in well illuminated places.
• Avoid trimming wet grass.
• When standing on a sloped terrain always make sure you stand rmly
on the ground.
• Walk, never run.
• Mow only crosswise a slope, never up or down.
• Be very careful when changing direction of trimming.
• Switch o the motor when carrying the grass trimmer.
• Do not use the grass trimmer with damaged guards, casing or without
guards.
• Switch on the motor according to the instruction manual, making sure
your feet are away from the cutting string.
