cord or power cord. All parts should be correctly assembled and
full requirements ensuring proper and safe operation of the grass
trimmer. Any damaged protective element or other part should be
immediately repaired or replaced.
GUIDELINES FOR SAFE OPERATION
• The grass trimmer should be connected to a proper extension cord.
• Secure the extension cord in the cord holder.
• When long grass is trimmed, always work gradually, layer by layer.
• The grass trimmer should be kept away from hard objects and
cultivated plants.
• The grass trimmer can be used, only when grass is dry.
• When trimming edges, drive the tool along a lawn edge.
AUTOMATIC ADVANCEMENT OF THE CUTTING STRING
The grass trimmer is equipped with automatic advancement of the
cutting string. The cutting string will advance during operation, when
you press the spool guard button (13) against the ground by hitting
energetically (g. F). An excess cutting string will be cut by a metal blade
(12) located in the guard (9) (g. G).
When the cutting line is torn o or its part is broken inside the spool
casing, the automatic advancement of the cutting line will not be
active. The cutting string must be advanced manually then.
MANUAL ADVANCEMENT OF THE CUTTING STRING
Disconnect the grass trimmer from the power supply.
• Rotate and remove the spool guard (13) (g. H).
• Thread ends of the cutting string through holes in the spool guard
(13) (g. I).
• Replace the spool guard (13) (overcoming the spring resistance) by
rotating to secure it in place (g. J).
• Make sure the assembly is correct.
If it is necessary to advance a larger amount of string – press the button
on the spool casing (13) and pull both ends of the string at the same
time until the lock clicks.(g. K).
Caution should be exercised when using the grass trimmer for
vertical trimming of edges of lawns and ower beds. Stay away from
the rotation plane of a cutting string to avoid risk of being hit with
an object thrown by the cutting string.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Unplug the power cord from the main socket, before any activities
related to installation, adjustment, repair or maintenance are
commenced.
Take precaution because of the metal blade for cutting o of the
cutting string.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• Clean ventilation gaps in the motor casing on a regular basis.
• Remove grass residues from the guard and cutting string spool on a
regular basis.
• Never clean the grass trimmer with water, aggressive uids or solvents.
• Clean the grass trimmer with a brush or a soft cloth.
• Periodically check the condition of carbon brushes of the electric motor.
• Store the tool in a dry place, out of reach of children.
• Use recommended spools with the cutting string.
REPLACEMENT OF THE CUTTING STRING SPOOL
• Rotate and remove the spool guard (13) (the return spring should
remain in the seat) (g. H).
• Remove the used cutting string spool (10) from the spool guard (13)
(g. L).
• Clean inside the spool guard and seat thoroughly, remove all residues
of dirt and grass.
• Unwind the string from the new cutting string spool (10)
(approximately 10 cm from both ends).
• Thread ends of the cutting string through holes in the spool guard
(13) (g. I).
• Place the used cutting string spool (10) in the spool guard (13) (g. M).
• Replace the spool guard (13) by pressing it lightly (overcoming the
spring resistance) and rotate to secure it in place (g. J).
• Make sure the assembly is correct.
REPLACEMENT OF THE CARBON BRUSHES
Worn (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or broken carbon brushes of the
electric motor must be immediately replaced. Always replace both
brushes at the same time.
Carbon brushes should be replaced by a qualied person using
original spare parts.
All faults should be eliminated by an authorised service centre of the
manufacturer.
