Install
the
engine
as described
in this chapter.

Flll
the
crankcase
with the
recommended
type
and
quantity
of engine
oil.

Fill
the
cooling
system
with
the
recommended
coolant.

PISTONS
AND
CONNECTING
RODS
The
engine
must
be
removed from
the
frame and
the crankcase disassembled
in order to
remove
the
pistons
and connecting
rods. The
pistons
and
connecting
rods are
removed
through
the top of
the
cylinder bore.

Remove the engine as described
in
this chapter.
CAUTION
If
disassembling
a
well
run-in
engine,
inspect the
top of the cylinder
bores
for
a
ridge
where
the
piston
ring reaches
the top of its
travel
(Figure
138).
Perform
Step
2 only if there is
a
ridge
present.
