Do
not
get
grease
on the brake discs
or stopping
power
will
be reduced.
Wheel
balance
directly
affects
the stability, han-
dling
and
overall
safety
of
the
motorcycle
Carefully check
balance before
reinstalling the
wheel.
Install
the
brake discs
with
the
arro w ma rk
facing
in
the
normal
rotating
directi
on.
Install and
tighten
the
new
mounting
bolts
to
the
specified
torque
.
TORQUE: 20 Nom (2.0 kqf- rn, 14
Ibf
oll)
Apply
grease to
the
dust
seal
lips
,
then
install
them
into
the
wheel
hub.
WHEEL BALANCE
The
wheel
balance
must
be checked wh en the
tire
is
remo
un
ted
.
For
optimum
balance,
the
tir
e balance mark(a pai nt
do
t on t he
side
wall )
must
be
located
nex
t
to
the
valve
stem
. Remount
the
tire
if necessary.
Note
the
rota
ting
direction
marks
on
the
wheel
and
tire.
Mo
unt
th e
wheel,
tire
and brake disc
assembly
on an
inspection
stand
.
Spin
the
wheel,
allow
it to
stop
, and ma rk
the
low-
estlheaviestl
part
of
the
w heel w ith chalk.
Do
this
two
or
th ree
times
to
verify
the
heavi est area.
If
the
wheel
is balanced, it
will
not
stop
consistent
ly in
the
same position.
To balance the
whe
el, ins
tall
balance
weigh
ts on the
lightest
side
of
the
rim
,
the
side
opposite
the
chalk
ma rks.
Add
just
eno
ugh
weight
so the
wheel
will
no
longer
stop
in
the
same
position
when
it is
spun
.
Do
not
add
mor
e
than
60 9

the
