Remove

sprocket

and
guide
plate
.
Check
the
drive chain guide plate for
wea
r or da
mage
and
replace if necessary.
BRAKE
FLUID
NOTE:
Do
not
mix d
iffe
rent
types
of
fluid, as they are
not
compat
ible
w ith each
other
.
Do not
allow
foreign
mater
ial to en
ter
the system
when
filling
the
reservoir.
Avo
id sp
illi
ng fluid on painted, plastic or rubber
parts. Place a rag
ove
r these parts
wh
enever
the
system
is serviced.
When the fluid level is low, check the brake pads for
we
ar (see next page). A low fluid level
may
be due to
wea
r of the brake pads. If
the
brake pads are
worn
,
the c
aliper
p
iston
is p
ushed
out,
and th is
accounts
for
a
low
reservoir level. If the brake pads are
not
worn
and the fluid level is low, check entire system
for
leaks
(see
next
paqe
),
FRONT
BRAKE
Turn the
hand
lebar so that
the
reservo ir is level and
check
the
front
brake
fluid
reservoir level.
If th e leve l is near
the
lowe r level line, check the brake
pad w ear (see b
elow)
.
REAR
BRAKE
Place
the
mo
to
rcycle on a level surface, and sup
port
it
in an upr
igh
t position.
Check the rear brake f
luid
reservoir level.
If
the
level is near the
lowe
r level line, check
the
brake
pad
wear
(see
below
).
