Broadcast Storm Control
This chapter introduces and shows you how to configure the broadcast storm control feature.
15.1 Broadcast Storm Control Commands
Broadcast storm control limits the number of broadcast, multicast and destination lookup failure
(DLF) packets the OLT receives per second on the ports. When the maximum number of allowable
broadcast, multicast and/or DLF packets is reached per second, the subsequent packets are
discarded. Enable this feature to reduce broadcast, multicast and/or DLF packets in your network.
You can specify limits for each packet type on each port.
The following table describes the related commands.
15.2 Broadcast Storm Control Examples
Enable broadcast storm control on the OLT.

Display the storm control status on the specified port.

Enters the sub-command mode for configuring the specified
ports.
aid: <xe|ge|pon>-<slot>-<port>
broadcast-limit
Enables broadcast limits on the port.
broadcast-limit <pkt/s>
Sets the number of broadcast packets the port receives per
second.
multicast-limit
Enables multicast limits on the port.
multicast-limit <pkt/s>
Sets the number of multicast packets the port receives per
second.
dlf-limit
Enables DLF limits on the port.
dlf-limit <pkt/s>
Sets the number of DLF packets the port receives per second.
