A closed circuit on the ALARM input pins indicates an alarm.
Pins 1 and 9 are alarm input one.
Pins 2 and 9 are alarm input two.
Pins 3 and 10 are alarm input three.
Pins 11 and 10 are alarm input four
The OMC2400 signals an alarm when it detects an alarm on the ALARM input pins, the OLT is
overheated, the voltage readings are outside the tolerance levels a fan fails or another alarm
occurs.
The signal a minor alarm, the OMC2400 opens the circuit for pins 4 and 12 and closes the circuit
for pins 5 and 12.
The signal a major alarm, the OMC2400 opens the circuit for pins 13 and 6 and closes the circuit
for pins 14 and 6.
The signal a critical alarm, the OMC2400 opens the circuit for pins 7 and 15 and closes the circuit
for pins 8 and 15.
Note: The alarm input is only for dry contact without any power.
1.3.3 CONSOLE Port Connections
Connect the male 9-pin end of the RS-232 console cable to the console port of the management
card. Connect the female end to a serial port (COM1, COM2 or other COM port) of your computer.
For local management, use a computer with terminal emulation software configured to the following
parameters:
VT100 terminal emulation
9600 bps
No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit
No flow control
