18.4 MAC Authentication Commands

COMMAND DESCRIPTION
mac-authentication
Enables MAC authentication on the OLT.
Note: You must first enable MAC authentication on the OLT before
configuring it on each port.
no mac-authentication
Disables MAC authentication on the OLT.
interface port-channel <aid>
Enters the sub-commands for configuring the specified interfaces.
aid: <xe|ge|pon>-<slot>-<port>
mac-authentication
Enables MAC authentication on the ports. You must first allow MAC
authentication on the OLT before configuring it on each port.
no mac-authentication
Disables MAC authentication on the ports.
exit
Leaves the interface configuration sub-commands.
mac-authentication nameprefix
<name-string>
Sets the prefix the OLT appends to all MAC addresses it sends to
the RADIUS server for authentication. The prefix can be up to 32
printable ASCII characters.
If you don’t configure this, the OLT forwards only the MAC address
of the client to the RADIUS server.
mac-authentication password
<name-string>
Sets the password the OLT sends along with the MAC address for
authentication with the RADIUS server. The password can be up to
32 printable ASCII characters.
mac-authentication timeout <1-
3000>
Specifies the amount of time in seconds before the OLT allows a
client MAC address that fails authentication to try and authenticate
again.
When a client fails MAC authentication, its MAC address is learned
by the MAC address table with a status of denied. The timeout
period you specify here is the time the MAC address entry stays in
the MAC address table until it is cleared. If you specify 0 for the
timeout value, then this entry will not be deleted from the MAC
address table.
This settings is superseded by the mac-aging-time command.
no mac-authentication timeout
Sets the MAC address entries learned via MAC authentication to
never age out.
show mac-authentication
Displays MAC authentication settings for the OLT.
show mac-authentication config
Displays MAC authentication settings on a port by port basis with
authentication statistics for each port.
