The following table lists the management card’s specifications. See Table 179 on page 316 for
power consumption specifications.
1.4 10GE Uplink Card
The 10GE uplink card provides the OLT with a 10 Gb connection to the backbone.

1.4.1 10GE Uplink Card SFP+ Slots
The 10GE uplink card has two slots compliant with IEEE 802.3ae for Enhanced Small Form-factor
Pluggable (SFP+) transceivers (10 Gigabit Ethernet or 1 Gigabit Ethernet) used for backbone or
subtending connections. Transceivers are not included. See Table 6 on page 23 for specifications of
the supported optical transceivers.
To avoid possible eye injury, do not look into an operating fiber-optic
module’s connectors.
You can change transceivers while the OLT is operating. Use different transceivers to connect to
backbone Ethernet switches with different types of fiber-optic connectors.
