ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 15 2 Brush Leads Inspection Starter Relay Inspection Set the ohmmeter to the x 1 12 range Measure the resistance between the negative brush and the plate Measure the resistance between the positive brush and the terminal Disconnect the starter motor lead and battery positive terminal from the starter relay CAUTION cThe battery positive lead with the rubber cap connected directly to the battery positive termin even when the ignition switch is off so take care not short the removed lead to chassis ground Using the x 1 ohmmeter range measure the resis ance across the relay terminals If the relay clicks but the meter does not read zero th relay is defective and must be replaced If the rela does not click at all the relay is defective and must b replaced If the relay makes a single clicking sound and the met reads zero the relay is good The trouble is in th starter motor or the motor power supply wires Switch Position If there is not close to zero ohms the bursh is an open and brush must be replaced Ignition switch ON Engine stop switch RUN Starter button ON Neutral switch ON Transmission is in Neutral Meter Connection Location Starter relay terminals Meter Range Meter Reading Leads disconnected x 1 11 0 fi and relay clicks when starter button is pushed Brush Plate and Terminal Bolt Inspection Set the ohmmeter to the highest range Measure the resistance between the positive brush holder and the end cover Measure the resistance between the terminal and the end cover If there is any reading at all the insulator may be failed and the washer insulator of the end cover must be replaced Lighting System The headlight beam is and vertically Headlight adjusted for your safe riding In most areas it is illegal justed headlights adjustable both horizontal aiming must be correct as well as oncoming driver to ride with improperly ad Headlight Beam Horizontal Adjustment A Positive Blush Holder B End Cover Put a Phillips screwdriver into the horizontal adjuste guide on the back of the headlight
