FUEL SYSTEM Plug Installation US model only CAUTION cDo not use compressed air on an assembled carb the floats may be crushed by the pressure a vacuum piston diaphragms may be damaged Remove as many rubber or plastic parts from th buretor as possible before cleaning the carbureto a cleaning solution This will prevent dama deterioration of the parts cThe carburetor body has plastic parts that cann removed DO NOT use a strong carburetor cl solution which could attack these parts instead mild high flash point cleaning solution safe for parts 1 Apply a bonding agent 3 Pilot screw 2 Plug 4 Carburetor body CAUTION Do not apply too much bonding agent to the plug or the pilot screw itself from being fixed When removing the coasting enricher system unscrew the mounting screws and remove the cover spring O ring and diaphragm Do not use wire or any other hard instrument to carburetor parts especially jets as they ma damaged Disassemble the carburetors Immerse all the metal parts in a carburetor cle solution Rinse the parts in water When the parts are clean dry them with compressed a Blow through the air and fuel passages with compr air Assemble the carburetors Coasting Enricher System Carburetor Inspection WARNING j Gasoline is extremely flammable and can be expl under certain conditions Turn the ignition s OFF Do not smoke Make sure the area is ventilated and free from any source of flame or sp this Includes any appliance with a pilot light 1 Carburetor LH 2 Mounting Screw 3 Cover 4 Spring 5 Diaphragm 6 Coasting Enricher Body 7 Mounting Plate Carburetor Cleaning WARN IN Clean the carburetors In a well ventilated area and take care that there is no spark or flame anywhere near the working area this includes any appliance with a pilot light Because of the danger of highly flammable liquids do not use gasoline or low flash point solvents to dean the carburetors Remove the carburetors Before disassembling the carburetors check the level see Fuel Level Inspection lf the fuel level is incorrect inspect the rest of carburetor before correcting it Slide the choke lever right to left it to check the starter plungers move smoothly and return spring tension If the starter plungers do not work properly rep the carburetors Turn the throttle cable pulley to check that throttle butterfly valves move smoothly and return spring tension If the throttle valves do not more smoothly Rep the carburetors
