ENGINE TOP END Cylinder Piston Cylinder Removal Remove the following parts before cylinder and piston removal Position the crankshaft at compression stroke TDC for the Number 2 piston and then turn the clockwise about 90 Fairing Fuel Tank Coolant Draining Radiator Muffler Carburetor Pull the rearward Camshaft Chain Tensioner Rear Camshaft Chain Guide Bolt Upper Cylinder Head Cover Cylinder Head Remove the water pipe mounting bolt and take off the pipe from the water pump Remove the cylinder and then remove the water hose from the cylinder A Piston Base 57001 149 Piston Removal Remove the piston pin snap ring from the outsid each piston oBc sure to place a clean doth under the pisto prevent the snap ring from falling into the crankcase Water Pipe and Hose A Snap Ring Remove the piston by pushing its piston pin ou side that the snap ring was removed Use piston puller assembly special tool if the pin is tight 1 Water Pipe 2 Mounting Bolt 3 Water Hose 4 Mounting Bolts Cylinder Installation Notes Apply a engine oil to the cylinder bores piston rings and piston skirt Replace the cylinder base gasket with a new one Slip piston base special tool as shown if necessary to hold piston level A Piston Pin Puller Assembly 57001 910
