FUEL SYSTEM 2 cAUTjÔÏÏ Air Cleaner Air Cleaner Element Removal O f dirt gets through into the engine excessive engi wear and possibly engine damage will occur Remove the following parts Seat see Frame chapter Fuel Tank Bracket Bolts Move the tank bracket forward to pull the rubber band out of the cleaner housing Air Cleaner Element Installation oElement installation is the reverse of removal No the following Be sure to fit the element holder in the groove at t bottom of the case A Tank Bracket B Tank Bracket Bolts C Rubber Band Remove the air cleaner housing cap Pull the element holder out of place Pull out the air cleaner element A Holder B Element C Groove Set the housing cap with the arrow mark facing for ward A Element B Element Holder Push a clean lint free towel into the air cleaner housing to keep dirt or other foreign material from entering WARNING O f dirt or dust is allowed to pass through into the carburetors the throttle valves may become stuck possibly causing an accident A Housing Cap B Arrow Install the fuel tank see Fuel Tank Installation
