FUEL SYSTEM 2 WARNING Operation with improperly adjusted incorrectly routed or a damaged cable could result in an unsafe riding con dition Check idle speed lf the idle speed is out of the specified range adjust it Idle Speed 1 300 100 r min rpm 1 500 100 r min rpm Idle Speed Adjustment Turn the adjusting screw until idle speed is correct A Vacuum Hoses Start the engine and idle to measure the engine int vacuum lf the intake vacuum difference between any cylinders exceeds the limit synchronize the carbur butterfly valves see Butterfly Valve Synchronization Engine Vacuum Synchronization Less than 2 7 kPa 2 0 cmHg difference between both cylinders Remove the vacuum gauge connect the vacuum hoses to the vacuum hose fittings A Idle Adjusting Screw Carburetor Synchronization Turn the adjusting butterfly valves screw to synchronize Open and close the throttle a few times to make sure that the idle speed is within the specified range Re adjust if necessary Carburetor Synchronization Inspection Warm up the engine Check idle soeed and adtust if necncsarv turn the fuel tap PRI position WARNING oGasoline is extremely flammable and can be explosive under certain conditions Turn the ignition switch OFF Do not smoke Make sure the area is well ventilated and free from any source of flame or spark this includes any appliance with a pilot light Pull the vacuum hoses out of the vacuum hose fittings at the fuel tap and the carburetor fuel enricher Attach vacuum gauge set special tool 57001 1198 to the vacuum hoses A Adjusting Screw Check idle speed and adjust if necessary the
