FUEL SYSTEM Throttle Cable Adjustment Cable Lubrication Refer to the Base Manual noting the following After adjusting the upper end of the accelerator cable tighten the locknut against the adjuster Throttle Cable Inspection A Locknut B Adjuster C Throttle Cable Throttle Cable Lubrication With the throttle cable disconnected at both ends the cable should move freely within the cable housing Throttle Cable Inspection Whenever the throttle cable is removed and in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart see General Information chapter perform the following Apply a thin coating of grease to the throttle cable lower ends Throttle Cable Lubrication Choke Cable Choke Cable Free Play Inspection 1 Apply grease Lubricate the cable with a penetrating rust inhibitor Check that the choke lever returns properly and the inner cable slides smoothly lf there is any irregularity check the choke cab follows Determine the amount of choke cable play a choke lever Pull the choke lever until the plunger lever at the carburetor contacts with the plunger the amount of choke lever travel is the a of choke cable play
