Connecting to the Matrix Switch via RS-232
You can control and operate the VM5404HA / VM5808HA using a high-end
controller or PC. To connect to the VM5404HA / VM5808HA via RS-232, do
the following:
1. Connect the RS-232 serial port on the VM5404HA / VM5808HA to the
RS-232 serial port on your computer using a 9-wire straight cable, with
only pin 2 to pin 2, pin 3 to pin 3, and pin 5 to pin 5 connected.
2. The controller’s serial port should be configured as follows:
When a session is established with the VM5404HA / VM5808HA, you can
control and configure the VM5404HA / VM5808HA via RS-232 commands.
