create ipif

Purpose Used to create an IP interface on the switch.

Syntax

create ipif <ipif_name12> <network_address> <vlan_name

32> {state [enable | disable]}

Description This command will create an IP interface.

Parameters

<ipif_name 12> − The name for the IP interface to be created.

<network_address> − IP address and netmask of the IP interface

to be created. You can specify the address and mask information

using the traditional format (for example, 10.1.2.3/255.0.0.0 or in

CIDR format, 10.1.2.3/8).

<vlan_name 32> − The name of the VLAN that will be associated

with the above IP interface.

state [enable | disable] − Allows you to enable or disable the IP

interface.

Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.

Example usage:

To create an IP interface on the switch:

DGS-3312SR:4#create ipif System ipaddress 10.48.74.122/8 v2 state

enable

Command: create ipif System ipaddress 10.48.74.122/8 v2 state

enable

Success.
