wishes to use a remote SSH server for authentication purposes.

Choosing this parameter requires the user to input the following

information to identify the SSH user.

• hostname <string> - Enter an alphanumeric

string of up to 31 characters identifying the

remote SSH user.

• hostname_IP <string> <ipaddr> - Enter the

hostname and the corresponding IP

address of the SSH user.

 Password – This parameter should be chosen if the user

wishes to use an administrator defined password for

authentication. Upon entry of this command, the switch will

prompt the user for a password, and then to retype the

password for confirmation.

 Publickey – This parameter should be chosen if the user

wishes to use the publickey on a SSH server for authentication.

 None – Choose this parameter if no authentication is

desired.

Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.

Example usage:

To configure the SSH user:

DGS-3312SR:4# config ssh user Trinity authmode Password

Command: config ssh user Trinity authmode Password

Success.

DGS-3312SR:4#

show ssh user authmode

Purpose Used to display the SSH user setting.

Syntax

show ssh user authmode

Description This command allows you to display the current SSH user setting.
