8 USINGTHE MOTOR DRIVEN WELDER AS AN AC GENERATOR OPTIONAL 10 TRANSPORT AND STORAGE OF THE ENGINE DRIVEN WELDER For transport and storage of the engine driven welder refer to the USER S HANDBOOK provided by the manufacturer of the engine SETTINGUP FIG L A WARNING All the operations listed below should be carried out with the motordriven welder switched off 11 TROUBLESHOOTING IF THE MACHINE IS NOT WORKING SATISFACTORILY BEFORE CARRYING OUT MORE SYSTEMATIC CHECKS OR CONTACTING THESERVICING DEPARTMENT CHECKWHETHER After regulating the welding current using the potentiometer and referring to the graduated amp scale the welding current is actually suitable for the diameter and type of electrode being used The yellow LED has lit up indicating triggering ot the short circuit thermal relay Be sure to take note of the rated duty cycle if the thermal relay triggers wait for the engine driven welder to cool naturally and make sure the fan is working properly Make sure there is no shorting at the engine driven welder output terminal if there is a problem remove the cause Make sure the welding circuit connections have been made correctly in particular make sure that the earth cable clamp is actually connected to the piece and that there is no intervening insulating material e g Paint Remove the top and side covers Connect the AC power supply board to the motor driven welder using the cable supplied Carefully fit the AC power supply kit and the top cover using the screws for this purpose OPERATION Make sure the machine is connected to an earth stake as described in chapter 5 INSTALLATION Make sure that the voltage of the appliance corresponds with that supplied by the AC power supply board Connect the plug of the appliance to the socket provided on the AC powersupply Fig engine dealer A WARNING The AC power supply board can be used for connecting compatible electrical appliances lighting tools and electric motors that do not exceed the maximum power given in the technical specifications TAB 3 The load should be applied after the engine has been started Before switching off the engine always disconnect the load If the AC power supply board is overloaded or there is a fault in the equipment connected to it the yellow indicator light will come on and the power supply to the equipment will be cutoff Reset is not automatic To restore the system to operational status RESET it is NECESSARY to follow this procedure Switch off the engine Check the equipment Restartthe engine A Connecting the supply system in forbidden to OPERATIONS CAN BE Controllare il motore prima di ogni uso vedi il manuale del costruttore del motore a scoppio Non collocare oggetti infiammabili vicino al motore e tenere la motosaldatrice aa almeno 1 metro da edifici e da altre attrezzature Non utilizzare la motosaldatrice in ambienti con pericolo di esposione e o incendio in locali chiusi in presenza di liquidi gas polveri vapori acidied elementi infiammabili e o esplosivi Rifornire il motore di carburante in un area ben ventilata e da fermo La benzina è altamente infiammabile e può anche esplodere Non riempire troppo il serbatoio del carburante Nel collo del serbatoio non ci deve essere carburante Controllare che il tappo sia ben chiuso Se si versa del carburante fuori del serbatoio pulirlo bene e Bemettere ai vapori di dissiparsi prima di accendere il motore on fumare e non portare fiamme non protette nel luogo dove il motore viene rifornito di carburante o la benzina viene conservata Non toccare il motore quando è caldo Per evitare gravi ustioni o incendi prima di traportare o immagazzinare la motosaldatrice lasciare che il motore si raffreddi CARRIED ENGINE MAINTENANCE Carry out regular maintenance and checks as indicated in the USER S HANDBOOK provided by the engine manufacturer For oil changes see also FIG N EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY BY EXPERT SKILLED ELECTRICAL MECHANICAL PERSONNEL OR LX WARNING BEFORE REMOVING THE PANELS OF THE ENGINE DRIVEN WELDER TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE INSIDE MAKE SURETHAT IT IS SWITCHED OFF A If checks are carried out inside the engine driven welder while it is live this could cause serious electric shock caused by direct contact with live parts and or injury due to direct contact with moving parts Make regular checks at a frequency depending on the amount of use and the amount of dust in the surrounding atmosphere inspecting the inside of the engine driven welder and using a jet of dry compressed air maximum 10 bar to remove any dust that has been deposited on the transformer reactance and rectifier Keep the jet of air away from the electronic boards when necessary these should be cleaned using a very soft brush and appropriate solvents Take the opportunity to make sure the electrical connections are tightand that there is no damage to the wiring insulation Atthe end of these operations re assemble tne panels of the enginedriven welder tightening the fastening screws right down Never ever carry out welding operations witn the engine driven welderopen 1 gas di scarico contengono monossido di carbonio gas velenosissimo inodore ed incolore Evitarne l inalazione Non far funzionare la motosaldatrice in luoghi chiusi Non inclinare la motosaldatrice più di 10 dalla verticale o il serbatoio potrebbe perdere benzina Tenere bambini ed animali lontano dalla motosaldatrice accesa dato che essa si scalda e può causare ustioni e ferite Imparare come spegnere il motore rapidamente e ad usare tutti i comandi Non affidare mai la motosaldatrice a persone che non dispongono di adeguata preparazione NORME PER LA SICUREZZA ELETTRICA COLLEGARE LA MACCHINA AD UN PICCHETTO DITERRA L energia elettrica è potenzialmente
