English CAUTION PRIOR TO OPERATION O When usingthehook hang upthe power toolfirmly not todropaccidentally If the power tool is dropped it may lead to an accident 1 Preparing and checking the work environment O When carrying the power tool with hooked toyourwaist belt do not fit any Mate sure thatthe worksite meets allthe conditions la id forth in the precautions bit to the tip of power tool If the sharp bit such asdrill is fitted to the power 2 Checking the battery tool when carrying it with hooked to your waist belt you will be inju red Make su re thatthe battery is installed firmly If it is at all loose it could come O Install securely the hook Unless the hook is secu rely installed it may cause off and cause an accident an injury while using 3 Installing the bit 1 Removing the hook Always follow the following procedu re to install driver bit Fig 5 Remove the screws fixing the hook with Philips screw driver fig 8 11 Pull the guide sleeve away from front of the tool 2 Replacing the hookand tightening the screws 21 Insert the bit into the hexagonal hole in the anvil Install securely the hook in the groove of power tool and tighten the screws to fix the hook firmly Fig 9 31 Release the guide sleeve and it returns to its original position 7 About Remaining Battery Indicator CAUTION If the guide sleeve does not return toitsoriginal position then the bit is not When pressing the remaining battery indicator switch the remaining battery installed properly indicator lamp lights and the battery remaining power can be checked Fig 10 When releasing your finger from the remaining battery indicator switch the remaining battery indicator lamp goes off The Table 4 shows the state of HOW TO USE remaining battery indicator lamp and the battery remaining power Table 4 1 Check the rotational direction The bit rotates clockwise viewed from the rear sidel by pushing the R side State of lamp Battery Remaining Power of the push button The L side of the push button is pushed toturn the bit counterclockwise The battery remaining power is enough See Fig 6 The L and TO marks are provided on the body CAUTION The push button cannot be switched while the impact driver is turning To LJ switch the push button stop the impact driver then set the push button The battery remaining power is a half o 2 Switch operation O When the trigger switch is depressed the tool rotates When the trigger is The battery remaining power is nearly ini released the tool stops O The rotational speed can be controlled by varying the amount that the empty o Re charge the battery soonest possible trigger switch is pulled Speed is low when the trigger switch is pulled As the remaining battery indicator shows somewhat differently depending slightly and increases as the trigger switch is pulled more on ambient temperature and battery characteristics read it as a reference 3 Change rotation speed NOTE As shown in Fig 7 when the rotation switch over lever is slid to the lower side the power mode PI is set And when slid to upper side the save mode SI is set Please use the save mode Slwhenyou want to lower Maximum tightening torque O Do not give a strong shock to the switch panel or break il ll may lead to a trouble O To save the battery power consumption the remaining battery indicator lamp lights while pressing the remaining battery indicator switch 8 How to use the LED light CAUTION Every time you press the light switch on the switch panel the LED light Inthe work of the save mode SI avoid the continuous screw tighten ingas lights or goes off Fig 11 temperature of electronic components of the converter switch increases Toprevent thebattery power consumption turn off the LED light frequently 4 Tightening and loosening screws CAUTION Install the bit that matches the screw line up the bit in the grooves of the O Do not expose directly your eye to the light by looking into the light If your eye is continuously exposed to the light your eye will be hurl head of the screw then tighten it Push the impact driver just enough to keep the tit fitting the head of the screw NOTE O To prevent the battery power consu mption caused by forgetting to turn off CAUTION Applying the impact driver for too long tightens the screw too much and the LED light the light goes off automatically in about 15 minutes can break it Tigh tening a screw with the impact driver at an ang Ie to that screw can damage OPERATIONAL CAUTIONS the head of the screw and the proper force will not be tra nsmitted to the screw Tighten with this impact driver lined up straight with the screw 1 Resting the unit after continuous work 5 Number of screws tightenings possible 1 The power tool is equipped with a temperature protection circuit to protect Please refer to the table below for the number of screw tightened possible the motor WH18DSL with one charge Continuous bolt tightening work may cause the temperature of the unit to rise Battery Screw used Wood screw 04 x 50 act ivatingthetemperature protection circuit andautomaticallystopping operation BSL1430 BSL1415 BSL1830 If this happens allow the powertool to cool before resuming use 2 After use for continuous bolt tightening work rest the u nitfor 15 minutes or Approx 900 Approx 450 Approx 1400 Approx 1990 Approx 995 Approx 3150 Soft wood so when replacing the battery The temperature of the motor switch etc will rise if the work is started again immediately after battery replacement Machine screw M8 x 16 These values may vary slightly according to surrounding temperature and battery characteristics 6 Using the hook eventually resulting in burnout NOTE Do not touch the protector as it gets very hot during continuous work 2 Cautions on use of the speed control switch The hook is used to hang up the power tool to your waist belt while This switch has a built in electronic circuit which steplessly varies the rotation working speed Consequently when the switch trigger is pulled only slightly lowspeed rotation and the motor is stopped while continuously driving in screws the components of the electronic circuit parts may overheat and be damaged 10
