1.2.5 Onsite Settings
NOTE:
In the case of a multi system, all onsite settings should be made on the master unit. Settings
made on sub units are invalid.
The outdoor unit to which the indoor unit transmission wire are connected is the master unit,
and all other units are sub units.
1.2.5.1 Onsite Settings with the Power Off
If the COOL/HEAT selector was connected to the outdoor unit,
set the dip switch (DS1) on the outdoor unit PCB (A1P) to “ON” (it
is set to “OFF” when shipped from the factory).
For the position of the dip switch (DS1), see the “Service
Precautions” label (see at right) which is attached to the EL.

Warning Electric Shock Warning
Never perform with the power on.
There is a serious risk of electric shock if any live part is touched.
1.2.5.2 Onsite Settings with the Power On
Use the BS button switches (BS1 through BS5) on the outdoor unit PCB (A1P) to make the
necessary onsite settings.
See the “Service Precautions” label on the EL. COMPO. BOX lid for details on the positions and
operating method of the BS button switches and on the onsite setting.
Make sure to record the setting on the accessory “REQUEST FOR THE INDICATION” label.
Warning Electric Shock Warning
Use an insulated rod to operate the BS buttons via the inspection door of EL. COMPO. BOX lid.
There is a risk of electric shock if you touch any live parts, since this operation must be
performed with the power on.
