Chapter 8. Setup

Security

The Security page controls access to the eco PDU.

Working Mode

 If Enable Telnet Server is checked, the eco PDU is accessible via a Telnet

sessions using the Telnet username and password (see Telnet, page 25).

 If Enable Modbus is checked, the eco PDU is accessible and the

measurements of the eco PDU such as current, voltage, power,

temperature, humidity, and pressure can be read via the Modbus

communications protocol.

 If Enable SSH is checked, the PDU is accessible and the measurements of

the PDU such as current, voltage, power, temperature, humidity, and

pressure can be read via the SSH cryptographic network protocol.

As a security measure if a firewall is being used the administrator can specify the port numbers that the firewall will allow if a port other than the default is used users must specify the port number as part of the ip address when logging in if an invalid port number or no port number is specified the eco pdu will not be found 62
