1. Prepare for Configuration
１．１ Ｐｒｅｐａｒａｔｉｏｎ
In this section, we will introduce the necessary information for the first time configuration of Router, which includes port
numbering, introduction of operation and command line interface before start.
１．２ Ｐｏｒｔ Ｎｕｍｂｅｒ
u The number of the Router’s physical port is in the form of <type><slot>/<port>, following is the relation table of
the type and it’s name.

u The values of slots have fixed numbers for the WIC/VIC extended slot. The method is that the right to left
numbering for horizontal and up to down for vertical. Zero is the fixed value as standard configuration. The
others values are numbered according to sequence above and start from 1 even network extended slot or voice
extended slot.
u The values of port are wholly numbered form right to left and start from0. If there’s only one port, it will be
tagged as 0.
u According to the rules above, the number for each series of product is listed as follows:
