Use the graceful-restart in MPLS LDP configuration mode to enable the LDP

Graceful restart.

graceful-restart

Syntax None.

Default Enabled.

Command Mode MPLS LDP configuration mode.

Usage Guideline LDP Graceful Restart provides a mechanism that helps to minimize the negative

effects on MPLS traffic caused by Label Switching Router's control plane restart.

It extends the LDP to preserve the MPLS forwarding state during LDP session

recovery, so that the data plane is not impacted. The Graceful Restart will be

used by the LDP session only when both local and peer are enabled.

Example This example shows how to enable LDP Graceful Restart.

Verify the settings by entering the show mpls ldp parameter command.

Switch(config)# mpls label protocol ldp

Switch(config-mpls-router)#graceful-restart
