Default For copy system_log command, if no file name or tftp server is specified as

destination, then a the default destination will be flash:\system.log.

Command Mode Privileged EXEC and MDMT-IF.

Usage Guideline The download command (when the destination URL is running-config, startup-

config or startup-image) is only available at privilege level 15.

Use this command to download or upload the image file or the configuration file

between remote TFTP/FTP/SFTP server and the local file system. Also use this

command to upload system log to TFTP/FTP/SFTP server.

The first command is used to copy file from system flash to compact flash or vice

versa.

When you want to upload the running configuration or save the running-

configuration to startup configuration, specify running-config as SOURCE-URL.

When you want to save it to the startup config, specifies startup-config as

DESTINATION-URL.

Notice: As the destination is startup-config, the source file is directly copied to the

file specified in boot config command,. That mean the original startup-config file

is overwritten by the running configuration.

When you want to apply a configuration file to the running configuration, specify

running-config as DESTINATION-URL.

Notice: As the source is system-log and destination is a file, the current system

log information will be saved into NVRM with the specified name. Be ware that

any copy running-config action does not imply any system log copy or saving

action, you should operate related command for system log file such as save

system log file to NVRAM and retrieve system log file to server.

To represent a file in the remote TFTP server, the URL must be prefixed with

tftp:\\.

To represent a file in the remote FTP server, the URL must be prefix with ftp:\\.

To represent a file in the remote SFTP server, the URL must be prefix with sftp:\\.

The command run under "MGMT-IF" is the special case for SOURCE-URL or

DESTINATION-URL is tftp/ftp/sftp server. Under this mode, the traffic will go

through management port only..

FILENAME The source or destination file in TFTP server. The FILENAME consists of from 1

to 95 characters (shared with directory name). The syntax can use alphanumeric

and special characters, but that does not allow space and (_/:*?”<>|_)

characters.

IFNAME User need to specify the IFNAME if the IPv6 address of TFTP server is link-local

address.
