IP Filter / MAC Filter Conflict
If there is a conflict between an IP filter and a MAC filter – in other words,
if a computer’s address is allowed by one filter but blocked by the other –
then the blocking filter takes precedence (the computer’s access is
blocked).
Lockout Policy
For increased security, the lockout policy section allows administrators to set
policies governing what happens when a user fails to log in successfully.
To set the lockout policy, check Lockout users after invalid login attempts (the
default is for Login Failures to be enabled). The meanings of the entries are
explained below.
Entry Explanation
Maximum login failures Sets the number of consecutive failed login attempts that
are permitted from a remote computer. The default is 5
times.
Timeout Sets the amount of time a remote computer must wait
before attempting to login again after it has exceeded the
number of allowed failures. The default is 3 minutes.
