3.1.4 Power Connector (DC)
Note: When installing the Switch power wire, push the wire firmly into the terminal as
deep as possible and make sure that no exposed (bare) wire can be seen or
touched.
1 Connect one end of a power wire to the ‘-’ power terminal on the front panel of
your Switch and tighten the terminal screw.
2 Connect the external power adapter to the -36 to -48 VDC terminal on the power
supply.
3 Repeat the previous step for the terminal labeled ‘+’.
See Chapter 40 on page 325 for information on the Switch’s power supply
requirements.
3.1.5 Procedure to Turn on the Switch Power
1 Turn on the power supply.
2 Move the Switch power switch to the ON position.
3.1.6 Power Connector (AC)
Note: Make sure you are using the correct power source as shown on the panel.
To connect power to the Switch, insert the female end of the power cord to the AC
power receptacle on the front panel. Connect the other end of the supplied power
cord to a power outlet. Make sure that no objects obstruct the airflow of the fans
(located on the side of the unit).
See Chapter 41 on page 331 for information on the Switch’s power supply
requirements.
3.1.7 Signal Slot
The SIGNAL slot (fitted with the signal connector) allows you to connect devices
to the Switch. This feature is in addition to the system alarm, which detects
abnormal temperatures, voltage levels and fan speeds on the Switch.
The Switch can be configured to send an SNMP trap to the SNMP server. See
Section 32.3 on page 276 for more information on using SNMP.
The Switch can be configured to create an error log of the alarm. See Section
34.1 on page 299 for more information on using the system log.
