1.17 Setting of the Flow Switch
Functional
description
The flow switch protects the evaporator against freezing. It shuts down the unit when the flow of the
unit becomes lower than the minimum allowable flow of the unit.
For units with leaving water applications lower than 5˚C, the setting has to be done after installation.
This is because the set point of the flow switch is influenced by the type and concentration of
anti-freeze in the water.
Necessary parts The following parts are necessary in the water system to be able to do a correct setting of the flow
switch (included in P&B-models).
Pump
Pressure ports before and after pump
Waterflow regulating valve.
Flow switch The illustration below shows the flow switch.
Components The table below list the main components of the flow switch for regulation.
Static pressure/
set flow
The table below contains the static pressure over the pump corresponding with the set flow for
P&B-models.
For N-models depends the static pressure corresponding with the set flow of the selected pump (see
the data of the pump supplier).
