Add EQ for
Constant Directivity
horns
The 'Xover Adjust' must be changed from "Both" to "Edge" in the Utilities.
Pressing UTILS while in a crossover edit screen will select 'Xover Adjust'.
1 Select the band to be edited by pushing the output assign buttons.
2 Use the navipad ^/v keys to cycle to the Xover frequency for the
lower band edge ("Low Freq").
3 Turn the rotary encoder anti-clockwise until the display reads
"OUT", the graphic display should show the lower edge as a
horizontal line, with no roll-off.
4 Pressing the navipad ^ key twice will access the upper edge
Xover frequency screen ("High Freq").
5 Turn the rotary encoder clockwise until the display reads "OUT",
and the band is shown as completely flat, i.e. displayed as a
continuous horizontal line across the display.
Constant Directivity horns often require additional equalisation in order to
extend their frequency response. In most cases, this is a fairly simple EQ,
requiring only a gentle slope (6dB per octave) high-pass shelving filter.
To add CD EQ:
1 Select the band to be equalised by pressing the output assign
button or by pushing the rotary encoder to select the channel
2 Press the navipad ^/v keys until you reach a free EQ.
3 Select the 'shape' icon at the top of the screen and select a 6dB,
Hi Pass filter by turning the rotary encoder until the graphic
shown left is displayed.
4 Push the navipad < key to access the EQ frequency.
5 Adjust the frequency by turning the rotary encoder to about 2kHz
(check with your manufacturer for detailed information about
frequency and boost requirements for a system).
6 Push the navipad > key to access the EQ cut/boost, and turn the
rotary encoder to give a boost of about 6dB.
7 The frequency and boost values may need slight adjustment to
give the best results.
Custom logos can be loaded into the FDS-366T using the 366Load.exe loader
program (available from our web site, www.bss.co.uk).
These logos must be in .GIF 87a (non-interlaced) format.
The size of the FDS-366T screen is 128x56 pixels, and 2 colours.
Logos should be drawn with a white tool on a black background.
