3. Low Shape
This screen is used to select the filter shape/slope type for the lower band edge
(high-pass) of the current output band. The band edge will be highlighted on
the graphic on the screen. The higher the dB/Octave number the steeper the
slope of the filter's rolloff, see the graphs on the preceding page for a more
accurate representation of this concept. Generally shallower, i.e. lower
number slopes, should be used in applications where dips in the frequency
response are encountered in the crossover area or where two drivers have a
more integrated response around the croosover area.
The available filter types are as follows, in this order:
"But 6" Butterworth 6dB/Octave
"But 12" Butterworth 12dB/Octave
"Bes 12" Bessel 12dB/Octave
"L-R 12" Linkwitz-Riley 12dB/Octave
"But 18" Butterworth 18dB/Octave
"But 24" Butterworth 24dB/Octave
"Bes 24" Bessel 24dB/Octave
"L-R 24" Linkwitz-Riley 24dB/Octave
"But 48" Butterworth 48dB/Octave
"L-R 48" Linkwitz-Riley 48dB/Octave
"NTM 36" Neville Thiele Method 36dB/Octave
"NTM 52" Neville Thiele Method 52dB/Octave
Turning the rotary encoder will scroll through the above list.
More information is available in chapter 7.0 Crossover shapes & Frequencies.
The lower edge (high-pass) of the crossover band can be set over a wide
frequency range from 'OUT' (no roll off) through 15Hz to 16kHz.
Turning the rotary encoder anticlockwise will lower the frequency, with 'OUT'
as the final step.
Turning it clockwise will increase the frequency, to 'OFF', which mutes the
output.
Selects the Edge filter type and slope as for the higher (low-pass) band edge.
See the available filter types in the Low Shape description above.
This function works in a similar way to the 'Low Freq', except that OUT is the
last step at the clockwise position.
NOTE: Turning the rotary encoder clockwise will decrease the frequency, to
the final clockwise position 'OUT', which does NOT mute the output.
