FDS-366T
The alignment assistant takes you step-by-step through the various stages of
the process starting with the "SELECT OPTIONS" screen.
Determine which parameters are to be measured and adjusted.
• Output Delays are used for correcting for discrepancies in distance or
phase between adjacent drivers in a cabinet or stack.
• Input Delays are used for aligning cabinets with one another.
• Polarities will correct driver polarities.
Use the Navipad ^ and v to move to the menu item you wish to adjust, then
use < and > to change the selection between "Yes" and "No".
Once you are happy with the selections, press the ENTER button to continue
the assistant.
You do not have to measure all bands at once; you can decide to exclude
some bands from a measurement session.
Use the front panel mute buttons to determine which bands are to be included
in the measurement session. Muted bands will not be measured and will not
have their parameters altered. Initially no bands will be selected. At least one
band must be unmuted for the Alignment Assistant to work.
Once you are happy with the selections, press the ENTER button to start the
measurement process.
! If all the outputs are muted then the Omnidrive will warn that there are not
enough outputs to start the process.
The measurement system is tolerant of a reasonably wide range of stimulus
levels received at the microphone and is fairly tolerant of extraneous noise
also. However, optimal measurement accuracy will be obtained with
reasonably high levels of stimulus. The unit allows this level to be set
subjectively.
The stimulus, which sounds similar to pink noise, will start at a low level. Use
the rotary encoder to adjust the level of the stimulus to a reasonably high
sound pressure level which is still comfortable to listen to (or wear ear
defenders!).
As the signal level is increased, you will see the input C bargraph meter
beginning to indicate that the microphone is receiving the signal. The unit will
expect to see a certain minimum signal level before allowing you to continue.
You should avoid setting the level so high as to cause any outputs to limit or
clip.
