- 69 -
FDS-366T
"Analogue" or "AES"
Select whether the input A socket is to accept either conventional Analogue
input or AES (AES/EBU) digital input. In the latter case it will be used as the
source of channels A & B for routing in the unit.
"RS232" or "RS485"
Selects whether serial communications is using RS485 or RS232 to transceive
program and/or control data. See the 'Serial Communications' section for
more details.
"Off", "Program", Master", "Thru", "PC Port" or "Multidrop"
The selection of this mode sets what data the FDS-366T can transmit on it's
MIDI OUT socket, and depends on the use of the FDS-366T in a system of
similar devices. The possible selections are:
Prevents MIDI messages being transmitted, MIDI data sent from other
Omnidrives, e.g. program changes, MIDI dumps and control information, is
still received and acted upon accordingly.
Enables the unit to transmit only MIDI program changes, useful if there are
several Omnidrives connected together and you do not want control
information to affect the other units.
Transmits all control changes to other devices on the same MIDI channel, this
enables parallell operation of two, or more, FDS-366Ts. This can be useful in
situations where simultaneous control of multiple Omnidrives is needed, i.e.
systemwide gain changes over multiple Omndrives during setup.
Passes MIDI data received on the MIDI IN socket directly to the FDS-366T's
MIDI OUT socket. MIDI data received by the unit is still acted upon but in this
mode data is thrued onto other units connected to the MIDI OUT. This is
important in order to send program changes (for example) to several
Omnidrives simultaneously. This mode should also be selected when using
the BSS MIDI network with the FPC-900r and Soundbench systems.
Allows the unit to be connected directly to a PC via the RS-232 port. In this
mode programs like Soundbench and Smaart Live can communicate with the
Omnidrive and edit the program parameters.
Use this setting when the Omnidrive is to be part of a multidrop network of
devices. See the 'Serial Communications' section for more info.
