“C41” FP RELAY CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
INSPECTION
“C42” IG SWITCH CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
* Refer to the IGNITION SWITCH INSPECTION for details.
Remove the fuel tank and air cleaner box. (4-52 and -60)
Inspect the ignition switch. (7-32)
DETECTED CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSE
No signal from fuel pump relay. Fuel pump relay circuit open or short.
Fuel pump relay malfunction.
ECM malfunction.
• Remove the seat. ( 6-4)

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Check the FP relay coupler for loose or poor contacts.
If OK, then check the insulation and continuity. Refer to
page 4-51 for details.
Y/B or O/W wire open or shorted to ground, or poor or
connection. ( 4-22)
If wire and connection are OK, intermittent trouble or faulty
ECM.
Recheck each terminal and wire harness for open circuit and
poor connection. ( 4-5)
Replace the ECM with a new one,
and inspect it again.
Replace the FP relay with
a new one.
