2-26 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

FRONT FORK

Inspect the front forks for oil leakage, scoring or scratches on the outer surface of the inner tubes. Replace

any defective parts, if necessary. (6-15)

REAR SUSPENSION

Inspect the damper for oil leakage and the spring unit for damage. Check that there is no play in the swing-

arm assembly. Replace any defective parts, if necessary. (6-43)

EXHAUST PIPE BOLT

• Tighten the exhaust pipe bolts and muffler mounting bolts to the specified torque.

EXHAUST GAS SEALER: PERMATEX 1372

Inspect every 12 000 km (7 500 miles, 12 months).

Tighten initially at 1 000 km (600 miles, 1 month) and

every 12 000 km (7 500 miles, 12 months) thereafter.
