ENGINE RIGHT SIDE 6-11
Clutch Cover and Right Engine Cover
•
When installing the cover doesn’t go well, the cover is
installed according to the following procedures.
○
The cover is installed while turning [A] the impeller [B].
•
Install:
Water Pump Cover (see Cooling System chapter)
•
Apply a non-permanent locking agent to two w ater pump
cover bolts and one right engine cover bolt.
Torque - Right Engine Cover Bolts: 9.8 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 87
in·lb)
W ater Pump Cover Bolts (with washer) [A]: 7.0
N·m(0.7kgf·m,61in·lb)
Coolant Drain Plug: 7.0 N·m (0.7 kgf·m, 6 1 in·lb)
•
Apply grease to the water pipe O-ring [B].
•
Insert the water pipe [C] into the hole [ D] of the water
pump cover.
Torque - Water Pipe Bolt: 9.8 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 87 in·lb)
•
Apply grease to the brake pedal bolt and install the brake
pedal (see Brakes chapter).
•
Install the kick pedal (see this chapter).
•
Install the engine oil drain plugs surely (see Periodic Main-
tenance chapter).
•
Pour in the specified type and am ount of oil (see Periodic
Maintenance chapter).
•
Pour in the specified type and am ount of coolant (see
Periodic Maintenance chapter).
•
Check t he rear brake (see Brakes i n the Periodic Mainte-
nance chapter).
Release Shaft Removal
•
Remove the clutch (see this chapter).
•
Remove the clutch cable upper end (see this chapter).
•
Removethetips[A]oftheclutchcable(seeClutchCable
Removal).
•
Pull the lever and shaft assembly [B] out of the crankcase.
Release Shaft Installation
•
Apply high-temperature grease to the oil seal lips.
•
Apply engine oil to the bearing in the hole of the
crankcase.
•
Insert the r elease shaft straight into the upper hole of the
crankcase.
CAUTION
When inserting the release shaft, be careful not to
remove the spring of t he oil seal.
