8. Check gear oil level. "Refer to Chapter 3."

7. Turn propeller nut to tightening direction to align one of

grooves to propeller shaft hole, and attach split pin.

Propeller Nut :

25 N·m (18lb·ft ) [ 2.5 kgf·m ]

5. Apply grease to propeller shaft.

6. Attach thrust holder, propeller, washer and propeller nut to

propeller shaft. Put a piece of wooden block between anti-

cavitation plate and propeller to prevent rotation of propeller,

and tighten propeller nut to specified torque.

Perform "Inspection of Lower Unit (Air Leakage)"

in Chapter 3 if necessary.

If propeller nut groove cannot be aligned with split

pin hole, loosen nut and repeat steps 6 and 7.

WARNING

• Before removing or installing propeller, be

sure to disconnect battery cables from

battery and remove stop switch lock

plate.

• When removing or installing propeller, do

not handle propeller with bare hands.

• Put a piece of wooden block between

anti-cavitation plate and propeller

prevent rotation of propeller.

4. Connect shift rod and cam rod with new spring pin.

Spring Tool 3 :

P/N. 345-72228-0

3. Set both engine side and gear case side gear shifts to

neutral (N).
